Key Characteristics
- All other sites.
- Soils are ≥ 20" (50 cm) to root-restrictive layers.
- All other sites.
- All soil horizons in the upper 40" (100 cm) have sandy textures (≥ 50% sand in the fine earth fraction) OR soils are contain ≥ 35% gravel in the upper 40".

Physiography
This site occurs on various landforms. The common factor is that soils contain mantles of sandy material.
Climate
This group spans the entire climatic gradient of MLRA 70B. See individual ecological site descriptions for more detail.

Soils have textures throughout the upper 40" with at least 50% sand in the fine earth fraction OR that contain at least 35% gravels.
