Soil features
This site is characterized by very deep, somewhat excessively drained soils containing 35 to 60 percent rock fragments throughout the profile. Typically, the surface layer is dark and high in organic matter. Textures are gravelly or very gravelly sandy loam 9 to 19 inches thick. The underlying material to a depth of 60 inches is stratified very gravelly sandy loam, very gravelly coarse sandy loam and very gravelly coarse loamy sand. Available water capacity is very low to low. It is subject to flooding during prolonged, high-intensity storms with channeling and deposition common along streambanks. Permeability is moderately rapid. Effective rooting depth is 60 inches or more.
This ecological site is associated with the map units and soil components in the following soil surveys. Future updates to the soil survey(s) may affect these associations.

A suite of 17 (or more) indicators are typically considered in an assessment. The ecological site(s) representative of an assessment location must be known prior to applying the protocol and must be verified based on soils and climate. Current plant community cannot be used to identify the ecological site.
